Frequently Asked Questions About Volleyball in Al Waha

Training starts at age 11, split into three groups: ages 11 to 13, ages 13 to 15, and ages 16 to 17.

Sessions run on Thursday evenings only, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

All sessions are indoor, in the air-conditioned sports hall at GEMS Metropole School, so training continues through the UAE summer.

Not for the Under 13 and Under 15 groups, which both run a Beginner level for players new to the sport. The Under 17 group runs at Intermediate and Advanced level, so it does require previous experience.

Not at Al Waha. Adult sessions run at selected other Dubai venues, and our team can point you to the nearest one.

Families regularly travel from Motor City, Remraam, and Dubai Sports City, with the venue sitting just off Hessa Street.

Choose Al Waha on our booking form and pick a Thursday session. A coach assesses your child during the trial and recommends the right group and level.

Under 13 trains from 5:30 PM on technique, rotations and first competitive play. Under 15 trains from 6:30 PM covering serve-receive formations, attacking combinations and transition play. Under 17 trains from 7:30 PM at a competitive level, with position-specific work, blocking systems and reading the opposition.

Beginner builds correct technique through repetition for players new to the sport. Intermediate applies those skills under more speed and pressure, with greater tactical demand. Advanced is faster and increasingly position-specific, preparing players for competitive match play.

Not the same session, but all three groups run back to back on Thursday evening between 5:30 PM and 8:30 PM, so siblings in different age groups can train on one trip.
